HuMENA’s strategy is built around three pillars: protection, empowerment, and accountability.

We protect human rights defenders and civic actors facing reprisals for their work. We empower communities — particularly in underserved and marginalized contexts — with knowledge, tools, and platforms for civic participation. And we hold governments and institutions accountable through evidence-based advocacy, legal analysis, and coalition action.

Our impact is measured not only in the number of statements issued or reports published, but in the defenders supported, the coalitions sustained, the policy shifts advanced, and the civic spaces preserved.
