Lebanon’s compounding crises — economic collapse, political paralysis, and the aftermath of the 2020 Beirut explosion — have severely impacted civic space and human rights. Civil society operates under immense strain, while accountability for systemic failures remains absent.
HuMENA maintains a regional presence in Beirut and engages directly with Lebanese civil society. Our work in Lebanon covers civic space and freedoms, the protection of activists and journalists, and governance and accountability advocacy.
