Your Excellency,

I am writing to demand the immediate lifting of the arbitrary travel ban imposed on Aida Seif El-Dawla, psychiatrist and co-founder of El Nadeem Center for the Rehabilitation of Victims of Violence and Torture in Egypt.

In brief: Egyptian psychiatrist and co-founder of the Nadeem Center, one of the Arab world's oldest torture rehabilitation centres. Barred from travel from 2016 until Case 173 was closed in March 2024. In February 2026 she was charged with spreading false news over the Centre's torture archive and released on bail.

I respectfully urge your authorities to:
  1. Immediately lift the travel ban imposed on Aida Seif El-Dawla and on any family members affected by the same order;
  2. Restore valid travel documents and remove any border-watch flags placed in connection with peaceful human rights work;
  3. Comply with the ICCPR Article 12 guarantee of freedom of movement.

I will continue to monitor this case until Aida Seif El-Dawla's freedom of movement is restored.

Respectfully,
