HuMENA for Human Rights and Civic Engagement is a Brussels-based organization with a regional presence in Beirut. We work to advance the rights and empowerment of communities across the Middle East and North Africa through strategic activism, advocacy, and collaboration.
Our approach is rooted in the principle of engaging people IN, FROM, and FOR the MENA region. We work with activists and civil society organizations in the region. We engage diaspora and exile communities from the region. And we advocate for policies and actions that serve the region’s people and their rights.
Founded on the conviction that human rights are universal and indivisible, HuMENA operates at the intersection of local civic action and international advocacy. We produce research, issue statements, support human rights defenders, and build networks that connect local struggles to global platforms.
