Many of the human rights challenges in the MENA region transcend national borders. Transnational repression, cross-border surveillance, regional security cooperation used to suppress dissent, and shared legal frameworks that restrict civic space — these are regional phenomena that require regional responses.
HuMENA’s regional work addresses these cross-border dimensions through coalition advocacy, multi-country research, and engagement with international bodies on issues that affect the region as a whole.
